Café Indigo serves up a host of freshly prepared Indian fare from its inviting restaurant shaped base, overlooking the stunning riverside. At Indigo in Stockton on Tees you will find great service and a welcoming atmosphere, along with a heap of good times and high jinks with fellow chomping compadres. With all food freshly cooked to order, and sourced from local butchers and markets, diners can chew on their chipates without an ounce of guilt. Café indigo satiates the culinary cravings of both visitors and locals inside its warming and welcoming quayside home.

Dip into delicately flavoured entrees such as the baja mach; lightly spiced fish, pan-fried and served in a spicy onion sauce (£4.45), or opt for the herbivore friendly dahi begoon; lightly spiced mixed vegetables served in a boat of aubergines and garnished with mint yoghurt (£4.45). For the mains, diners can smother their cascades of rice mountains with delectable exotic fancies like the lamb rogan josh, cooked in a special blend of spices with garlic, with a top later of sweet tomatoes and herbs (£5.95). The welcome at front of house was warm and friendly, staff were attentive and lovely throughout. The food was as good as I remembered - really tasty, subtle flavours and plenty of it.
