Like afternoon tea, a trip to the spa can involve indulgence, relaxation, and the odd wayward cucumber slice. Eye up a treat with today’s Groupon: £99 for a spa package for two with afternoon tea and a 25 minute massage at Raithwaite Hall.
A magnificent rural retreat situated amid 80 acres of grounds beside the crashing waves of wild and sandy Whitby coastline, Raithwaite Hall is deeply steeped in sumptuous surroundings. The hotel and spa envelop guests in indulgence, while the gourmet restaurant uses local produce and seafood freshly caught by local Whitby fishermen. Elsewhere, the sparkling spa facilities include four treatment rooms, a fully equipped gymnasium, heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi, all inviting guests to unwind in style.
Seekers of serenity can begin to ease into long hours of relaxation at 10am, as they are welcomed into the aromatherapy-scented spa with towelling robes and slippers and introduced to cloud nine with a 25 minute massage for the face, scalp, hands, or feet. Refreshments will be available throughout the day for whenever blissful idleness seems like thirsty work, and an afternoon tea will appease hungry tums with fresh finger sandwich, scones, pastries, tea and coffee. Guests will also be able to enjoy any further treatments with a 20% discount, available at time of booking.
Raithwaite Hall has been awarded a serene 9.3/10 by Booking.com users, while relaxed TripAdvisors have awarded the establishment 4.5/5. Though reviewers have focused more on the accommodation, comments on the spa have been positive, with many visitors complimenting the staff, facilities, and relaxing atmosphere.
The best part of the hotel is the spa area with the jacuzzi which overlooks a small stream and waterfall, a great steam room and sauna etc. Everything at the hotel is of high quality and it smells wonderful, so if you fancy an indulgent and relaxing time in great surroundings this is the place to go.

It has a sauna and steam room, with a single depth swimming pool and hot tub, flanked with plenty of seating and loungers. We spent a couple of hours in here because it was very quiet and left feeling incredibly relaxed. Apart from being fabulous, it was spotlessly clean and the changing areas were perhaps the best I have ever seen.
