About the Shows

Shafto's Club Comedy Nights will grace a slippery stage with the comedic delights of stand-up acts Gavin Webster on 6 September, John Fothergill on 8 November and Noel James performing on 4 October. Doing their best to split the sides of funny-seeking audience members, the chortle merchants will be supported by MC John Smith of The Grinning Idiot.

On 11 September, The Shafto will host a magical production of A Midsummer Night's Dream performed by the thesps at Northumberland Theatre Company. Directed by Gillian Hambleton, this imaginative take on the Shakespeare classic will weave in a few contemporary cultural references to keep the audience and faeries aflutter with attention.

Shafto's Club Music Nights will entertain head-bopping audiences with the rock n' roll sounds of The Steve Gibbons Band on 22 September and the bluesy Americana of Paul Lamb & The King Snakes on 30 November. Getting rhythms going from 6.30pm, the nights will be buoyed up by support from acts including Steve Daggett.
