The underwater world has always been fraught with unsavoury street urchins, dastardly loan sharks, and the dangers of Davey Jones’ Locker. Join a fish school with today’s Groupon: £69 for a PADI open water referral course at Aquanorth.
Having trained almost 10,000 instructors in aquatic acrobatics and saline frolics, Aquanorth remains one of only five PADI Career Development Centres in the UK, blowing bubbles since 1992. With a team of 20 PADI qualified staff at the helm they offer a wide range of courses from beginner splashes to speciality diver courses. Selling a trident’s loot of underwater goodies, the centre also keeps afloat an online shop as well as organising holidays so divers can kick their flippers in waters worldwide.
Those wanting to scale the seven seas can take their first strokes with a PADI Open Water Referral Course (£195). An anemone of five theory classes and five in the pool will teach land lungs the skills to survive underwater. In lessons of 4 to 1, instructors will take wanton water dwellers through the basics with a view to the next level stages of open water diving. With five pool locations to choose from and all equipment included, divers can reach new depths in their training.
