Pranzare takes its culinary influences from all heel-flicking corners of Italy's boot, whether it's the steam rising over their Naples-inspired pizzas or the icy dew clinging to their Sicilian gelatos. The extensive menu of pastas, pizzas, antipasti and risottos manifests the restaurant’s authenticity throughout, while the grill serves up sizzling meats and seafood with an array of sauces. Simple but stylish decor echoes the sleekness of a Milanese restaurant, with mint green walls dashed by flashes of red and white to complete the tricolour.
To commence proceedings diners can tuck into the calamari fritti with garlic dip (£3.95). One of the many risottos could follow, such as the risotto di pollo, which stars sautéed chicken alongside mushrooms, peppers and freshly chopped tomatoes (£6.95). Meals can be finished off with a choice of desserts from the daily-changing blackboard.
