The Rest or Rant was an early precursor to the Bed and Breakfast where guests could lay down their head or vent their troubles at empathetic strangers. Get your appetite worked up with today's Groupon at Rainton Meadows Arena. Choose between the following options:
• £20 for a Christmas Spectacular for two people including a three course meal, entertainment and disco (64% off)• £89 for a Christmas Spectacular for a party of ten people including a three course meal, entertainment and disco (68% off)
With a capacity of 2,000, Rainton Meadows Arena is one of the biggest indoor venues in the North East and is a favoured location for events ranging from music to conferences to dinner dos. Split over two floors, with an overlooking balcony between them, the arena boasts powerhouse technical equipment, staging and lighting, and has hosted the likes of Spandau Ballet and darts legend Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.
All of this audio-visual extravagance will be on parade at the Rainton Meadows Christmas Spectacular where guests will be festooned with a drink upon arrival. A three course meal follows, with a set menu featuring homemade vegetable soup, turkey or nut roast with all the trimmings and a sweet-toothed strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Live entertainment accompanies the festivities throughout the evening, and a disco promises to get hips shaking until the early hours (1am), provided the turkey doesn’t weigh them down too much.
