Sizzling with sub continental fare, Simla has been serving up traditional Indian cuisine by Newcastle’s Quayside for over three decades. The Eastern eatery is seasoned with classic tandoori, biryani, and masala dishes, all dressed with tender cuts of chicken, lamb, and freshly-prepared seafood. While the specialities menu brings regional flavours ashore, the establishment also caters for birthday bashes, anniversaries, and businesses functions with private event catering services.
Drumrolls will set the culinary beat with tender barbecued lamb mince on skewers (£3.70) or crispy battered onion bhajis (£3.20), before stepping aside for the main event. High drama can be reached with the fiery flavours of the prawn dhansak embellished with sweet pineapple and lentils (£7.90), or the medium heat of lamb bhuna dressed with authentic spices (£6.90). Alternately, the aromatic and succulent chicken korma cooked with coconuts and cream (£6.90) can offer a more subdued option.
