When led to water, a horse can be made to drink, swim or perform re-enactments of Rodeo and Juliet. Discover a midsummer's neigh dream with today's Groupon: £7 for a one hour horse riding lesson at South Causey Equestrian Centre.
This British Horse Society-approved centre canters to the forefront with an indoor arena, 100 acres of grazing, and a full set of BSJA show jumps, all set within the beautiful countryside of the Beamish Valley. More than 40 horses and donkeys call the stables home, and with an adjoining family pub it is ideally placed for a post-saddle whinny with newfound four-legged friends.
Structured depending on ability, the one hour lesson (£17) can cover dressage, jumping, hacking as well as the giddy-up basics. Kids aged 4 to 16 can tack up alongside 7 others in their group before taking to the ring. Hats and equipment are provided by the school, so riders need only don some comfortable wear and keep their ears pricked for the teacher’s instructions.
