The Hotel
This magnificent country house is enveloped by 15 acres of landscaped gardens and maintains its 19th century origins with careful preservation. The interiors are flanked by wood panelling and antiques, with a baronial main hall that aptly represents the design history. Eating in the hotel's restaurant, guests encounter seasonal dishes made with the best of locally-sourced ingredients, and a drinks list that comprises over 60 malt whiskies. Romantic types might wish to enjoy a candlelit dinner in the library dining room, while more casual drinks can be supped in the bistro and cocktail bar.
Groupon Recommends
A 50 minute drive through the Northumberland countryside will bring you to Alnwick Castle and its adjacent gardens. Designed to the tune of £42 million, Alnwick Garden is a striking display of cascading shrubbery, majestic fountains, and even tree houses. Alternatively, take a northwards journey to see the Palladian façade of Paxton House; found on the banks of the river Tweed, this stately home sits on 80 acres and encases a picture gallery which houses over 70 paintings. A short way over from Paxton House stands the walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, whose Elizabethan fortifications were built to keep out invading Scots and create fantastic viewing points for modern day visitors.

The Stay

We stayed here last year for my boyfriends birthday. The hotel was cosy, the rooms were lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were very helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a two night stay at Tillmouth Park and found it to be absolutely delightful. We stayed in one of the two rooms detached from the main building and were very happy with all aspects. The room was large and spotlessly clean, the food was excellent, and the staff were unfailingly friendly, cheerful, and efficient. We would gladly stay there again.
