The Hotel
This magnificent country house is enveloped by 15 acres of landscaped gardens and maintains its 19th century origins with careful preservation. The interiors are flanked by wood panelling and antiques, with a baronial main hall that aptly represents the design history. Eating in the hotel's restaurant, guests encounter seasonal dishes made with the best of locally-sourced ingredients, and a drinks list that comprises over 60 malt whiskies. Rail: Berwick-upon-Tweed Rail Station is around a 25 minute drive from the hotel. The station connects to major train stations, Edinburgh (44 minutes) and Newcastle (50 minutes).
