Putting authentic Polish food on the map in North London, Eureka Taste dishes up the finest Central European food in its bistro-style restaurant on Turnpike Lane. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients for their homemade stews, soups and other Polish treats, the eatery also serves as a cafe, pouring hot coffees and teas throughout the day.
Two guests can sample a mixture of classically European and traditionally Polish dishes with a two-course lunch or dinner. To start, diners may fancy the crispy duck, cucumber and spring onion salad (£4.95); the traditional rye soup, served with hardboiled egg and Polish sausage (£3.65); or perhaps the king prawns with celeriac and cream sauce, served with toast and salad(£5.65). For the main event, choices include the rib-eye steak served with green peppercorn sauce, homemade chips and salad (£14.95); the old Polish-style beef roulade stuffed with smoked bacon, soured cucumbers and onion and served with braised red cabbage, barley and gravy (£9.25); and a vegetarian option in the form of Polish dumplings stuffed with sour cabbage and wild mushrooms (£5.95). Diners will also be treated to a glass of house white wine each to accompany their courses.
