When weddings are done on a limited budget, transport cuts are the first to be made, resulting in the bride giving lifts on the back of her train. Take the carriage to marriage with today’s Groupon: £2065 for a wedding reception package including for up to 60 guests at Lambert Arms.
Once providing shelter to tired horses and their weary charges, The Lambert Arms now extends AA Rosette awarded hospitality to the modern traveller, business delegates, and couples getting hitched. In the shadow of the gentle splendour of the Chiltern Hills, the inn is well placed as a convenient retreat from the rat race and is a bolt hole to rely on when visiting local attractions such as Blenheim Palace and the golden spires of Oxford. The traditional, stylish interior works in conjunction with a thoroughly modern attitude to service, and their special attention to gastronomic satisfaction has earned them recent plaudits, including a further AA breakfast gong.
Couples with eyes on a big day can select a comprehensive wedding package that proffers wedded bliss from dawn till dusk. Hire of the Oxford Suite is included for an intimate ceremony and reception, where duos will be able to mingle among up to 60 guests as they sup wine, nosh on canapés, and sit down to a three course wedding breakfast on white linen table cloths. A toastmaster and banqueting manager will ensure that the course of true love runs smoothly, leading a toast to the blissful pair before dancing the night away on the dance floor. If the evening buffet of hearty bacon rolls and chips engenders dreams of satiated slumber, the newly joined pair can retreat to the Executive Suite for a good night’s rest full of memories of cutting the cake and weeping at the speeches. Additional guests may be added to the list on a full day basis at £69 per person or for the evening reception only at £10.50. A civil partnership package is also available upon enquiry.

While the wedding package has yet to be reviewed, guests found their stay at The Lambert Arms enjoyable. The hotel received a cosy 4/5 stars on TripAdvisor, while reviews on Booking.com were also positive. Some suggested that the service could be improved, but that the delicious meals and modern rooms made the stay.
Lovely large, clean modern rooms, a really comfortable bed, and plenty of storage space for a short break. The food was fantastic, great value for money, beautifully presented in a lovely dining room. The staff were exceptional, and nothing was too much effort. They were hardworking, friendly and engaging, and very knowledgable [sic] about the local area and transport links.

The hotel had a comfortable and welcoming feel. The room itself was very spacious with great features such as air conditioning, countryside view, large modern bathroom and decent sized comfy bed. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel and felt at home there enjoying our stay considerably.
