About Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is charged with making sure that years of regular tea partying, wine sipping and other dental whoopsies don’t leave such a visible mark on the pearly whites. After a solution is applied to the teeth, they will then be exposed to intense light, which accelerates the whitening process.
The one-hour treatment is preceded by a short consultation, aimed to assess suitability of one or two patients for treatment. The procedure will start with a deep clean, after which lips and cheeks will be held back in place by a plastic retractor, allowing the soon-to-be white teeth to expose themselves. A desensitising gel is rubbed onto the teeth, before the light shines onto them and the blanching begins. This is repeated four times for further efficacy.
Not suitable for the following people:
• Pregnant women
• Women who are breastfeeding
• Epilepsy sufferers
For 48 to 72 hours after treatment, customers should avoid coloured food, drinks and tobacco products, as the whitening process may continue during this period. ‘White’ foods, such as chicken and white rice, should be consumed.
