A venerable British pub celebrating 50 years of tradition, The Elwes Arms is still sizzling with the aroma of hearty grilled meats and classic cuisine. While the restaurant menu celebrates modern British gastronomy, the bar boasts a spread of bottled beers from across the world, and a garden gives opportunities for an al fresco tipple. Its Oakland Road location means easy accesses from both Carlton and Nottingham city centre, with parking available for those on motor transport.
Culinary cruises can get off to a fragrant start with dishes such as prawns in a piquant seafood sauce, with salad and wholemeal bread (£4.95), and chorizo and smoked bacon with a creamy paprika sauce (£4.95). Tongues and tummies can then get into the big leagues with mains that include breaded scampi with chips and mushy peas (£9.95), and trio of lamb cutlets with gravy, mash potato, and vegetables (£10.95). Whatever diners fancy, all meals are served with a 125ml glass of red or white wine each (£3.65).
