As the cat played his fiddle and the cow performed lunar acrobatics, the dish quietly eloped with the spoon. Make sure crockery stays on the table with today's Groupon: for £16.50 you and another can dine on exemplary fare at the infamous Fothergill's.
Located next to Nottingham castle overlooking the Robin Hood statue is a traditional quirky Watson Fothergrill building. A mere five minute walk from the city centre, Fothergill's has four distinct areas - a fabulous sun terrace, a warming contemporary ground floor, a glass front for casual dining and drinks, with a formal upstairs restaurant for those special occasions and private dining.
Groupon holders can feast on a wealth of hearty entrees. Kick start consumption with the chicken liver pate, served with pear and cinnamon chutney on toasted bread (£6) or the pot of freshly cooked prawns with a marie rose sauce and granary bread (£5.90). Appease stomach growls with beer battered fish and chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce (£9.90), or the cider onion, thyme and goats cheese puff pastry tart (£10.50). For those with sweet teeth there are plenty of sugary treats to take your fancy, from vanilla rice pudding with warm gingerbread (£5.50) to the dark chocolate torte with sweetened cream and coffee syrup (£5.50), there's a dish for every palette.

...I have rated the food 9/10 as everyone elses courses were perfect. A great night (and great background music!)
