When Peter Piper picked a pickled pepper to add to his curry he never thought that his actions would be used to teach elaborate alliteration. Pickle your fancy with today’s Groupon: £22 for a two course Indian meal for two with glass of wine each at Sitar Indian Cuisine.
Teaming authentic flavours with live traditional music at the weekends, Sitar Indian Cuisine appeals to all the senses. Welcoming diners with a glowing pink sign, this newly opened, luxury restaurant beams on Arnold’s High Street, wafting a mix of tandoori essences and tikka aromas among its menu. Soft cream walls are accented with deep aubergine corridors, illuminated by miniature sparkling chandeliers, treating eyes alongside stomachs.

Beginning with a selection of chutneys on a pickle tray (£3.25), the authentic meal allows time for popadoms to be dipped whilst menus are browsed. Onion bhajis, succulent chicken tikka, and sheek kabab (£6.95) make up the mixed platter, with other starters including tender tandoori lamb chops (£5.90) and puri prawns (£4.25). Signature dishes include nowabi (£14.90) and maas-nila torkari with Bangladeshi fish (£12.90). A choice of any rice or naan (up to £3.50) can accompany each main, while a glass of wine will wash dinners down.

We had the mixed platter and a biryani and a bhuna. It was all good and better than the other places in Arnold!
