Snowdrops are a species of woodland flower as well as a deprecating name for clumsy-handed snowmen. Pick up the pieces with today’s Groupon: £11 for a family day pass to the winter gardens with refreshments at Snowdrops at Hodsock Priory.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary of snowdrop blooms, Hodsock Priory has opened up its formal gardens and 12 acres of woodland for the public to roam. The 19th century country house regularly transforms into a luxurious wedding venue and hosts food and craft fairs at various times throughout the year. The 800 acre estate spans sweeping lawns and picturesque woodlands, and it’s café bar cooks up a selection of homemade pies, cakes, and artisan breads.
Families can keep their eyes peeled for “Barbara’s Double” and the “Lady Beatrix Stanley” snowdrop species, with a day pass to explore the winter gardens. Historic talks and tours take place daily from 11am to 2pm and can be enjoyed for no extra charge. Appetites worked up in a stroll across the lawns can be satisfied with a slice of cake and cup of coffee for the adults and a soft drink for the kids, while souvenirs can be scored in the café bar area.

A stunning setting for a wedding, party or corporate event...or simply to see the snowdrops in February. A hidden gem in Nottinghamshire...well worth a visit.
