Country breaks are enjoyed by couples, families, and tractors on a slippery slope. Tow yourself away with today’s Groupon: £69 for a one night stay with evening meal, breakfast and a glass of bubbly each and chocolates on arrival at the Petwood Hotel.

The former Officers’ Mess of the 617 'Dambusters' Squadron, the Petwood Hotel nuzzles over a century of history under its roofs, set amidst the leafy greens of Woodhall Spa. Echoing Tudor and Jacobean design, the former country residence retains much of its original oak features and elaborate maple furnishings. The ruby red dining room is rich in decadent period charm, serving up fine-dining delicacies prepared with locally sourced ingredients, and the hotel also houses its own beauty studio.
Greeted with chocolates and a glass of bubbly each, guests can settle into the en suite rooms which are decorated in a style sympathetic to the building’s era. Along with television and radio, tea and coffee making facilities add a touch of Britishness, and walks around the extensive grounds add to the Petwood’s charm. A two course meal can be consumed in the evening, and guests can wake up to the wafting aromas of a full English breakfast in the morning.

Reviews
85% of LateRoomers would recommend Petwood Hotel as a place to rest one’s head while TripAdvisors rate the accommodations a comfortable 3.5/5. Guests liked the beautiful historic grounds, pleasant staff and exceptional food. Some felt parts of the hotel to be a bit dated.
The building looks pretty spectacular as you drive up to it and is full of history and character. The bedroom was lovely; spacious and warm with a lovely view of the grounds and we had a really good night's sleep on a very comfy bed!

The outside area is perfect for just sitting out for lunch in the amazing gardens. I recommend a full walk to the bottom where although its [sic] a bit overgrown, you can see the original fountains and grounds untouched. We couldnt [sic] fault the whole experience, and would definately [sic] stay again.
