People may be under the impression that the Earl of Sandwich came up with the
humble lunchtime option devoured by so many on a daily basis. However, its
origins actually date back to neolithic times and the middle ages when thick
slabs of stale bread were used as plates. Thankfully the composition has been
refined since then and with today's Groupon you can enjoy the true art of
sandwich making. For just £3.25 instead of the usual £7.40 you can choose any
sandwich from a cafe which was named as the 2010 Independent Sandwich
Bar of the Year Award. To accompany this you can choose any Grande coffee or tea and finish it all off with a cu cake. Some of the best selling
sandwiches include Mozzarella, pesto mayonnaise and sun-dried tomatoes and
Thai red chicken curry and coconut mayonnaise with fresh coriander. There are
plenty of other classic fillings to choose from though, including:
- Crayfish and avocado with lemon mayonnaise
- Chicken Caesar and parmesan
- Goats cheese with fig and honey chutney
- Humus and falafel

In the comfort of a unique, old building, with a bit more space and a quiet location, you can really relax and escape the shopping and tourist madness that is Oxford town centre. The sandwiches are all delicious.
The building has a lot of character, the Fair Trade coffee tastes just awesome, and the service really makes my day.
