An old coaching inn nestled in a gently winding nook of the River Thames, The Red Lion Hotel is a picturesque residence that celebrates its Tudor heritage with classic décor and tranquil ambience. The red brick exterior is punctuated by blossoming wisteria and conceals handsomely furnished period features. Guests can visit the snug bar with an open log fire and warming atmosphere, sit or in the airy dining room, where the spoils of locally sourced and home-cooked fare will keep them occupied. 
Sunday diners can whet whistles with a glass of Prosecco, before enjoying a starter from tomato and basil soup with croutons, chicken liver pate with piccalilli, and smoked salmon and crab. The roast options will include beef with a red wine sauce, or chicken in a wild mushroom reduction, both served with the traditional trimmings, including roast potatoes and vegetables.

16 of us went for lunch at the Red Lion for a surprise family birthday and what a wonderful time we all had! The setting was beautiful, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was fantastic. All in all, highly recommended. We will definitely be going back again as Henley is a place we visit often.
