Fans of jazz often find fisherman’s wharves to be the best place for a little sole music. Feel the beat of the bass with today’s Groupon: £16 for a night out with a two-course meal and live music at The Jazz Cafe.

Jazzing up nights out for over 15 years, this restaurant-cum-events venue boasts past appearances from The Commitments, The Real Thing, Shakatak, and Courtney Pine. The Jazz Cafe hosts evenings of UK jazz, funk, and soul, played by quality tribute bands and smash hit spinning DJs. Setting up shop in the majestic Madejski Stadium, the dancing destination plays host to a restaurant and bar, revolving silver disco balls, and a glossy dance floor to accommodate for grooving, spinning, and sliding into the early hours.
Hungry tummies can settle down for a showpiece set menu, featuring starters such as Ardennes pâté on wholemeal toast with chutney and cornichons; smoked salmon with black pepper, brown bread, and a rocket salad; and a hearty home-made soup. The cast list for the main event is topped by a chicken breast filled with cream cheese and spinach, served in a red wine sauce; pork medallions served in a red wine and wholegrain mustard jus; and the veggie-friendly asparagus spears and feta cheese wrapped in sliced and grilled aubergine, served in a tomato jus. All mains will be served with potatoes and a seasonal vegetable parcel. Holding onto their table, music fans can sit back and listen to the dulcet tones of the bands and the more upbeat tempos of the resident DJs, drifting off in a haze of food and music-induced merriment for the rest of the evening.
