In order to be nice as pie, you must respect others, have good manners, and taste cracking with mashed potatoes. Tuck into the best of British with today’s Groupon: £25 for three courses of modern British cuisine for two with a glass of wine each The Red Lion.

Resplendent with 18th century charm, The Red Lion is a traditional country pub peppered with classic British bites, real ales, and a spacious beer garden for warm summer days. Boasting rustic interiors and open log fires, the establishment is awash with live music, pub quizzes, and bingo nights, as well as parading a cosy tea room for sweet-toothed souls. Where possible, the eatery uses locally sourced produce to whip up a tempting array of traditional pub grub, including succulent steak dinners and homemade hotpots, and raises a glass to birthday parties, business events, and charity fundraisers in their private function room.

British banquets can begin with prawn cocktail with marie-rose sauce (£5.95) or chicken liver pâté accompanied by warm toast and chutney (£5.25), before moving onto a concoction of pub classics. Options include the hearty 8oz sirloin steak dressed in a sauce of choice and accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables (£15.95), bangers and mash drizzled in onion gravy (£8.95), or beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce (£9.95). While vegetarian delights include the freshly-prepared broccoli and stilton quiche (£7.50), all meals will meet a sweet ending with a selection of homemade desserts (all £4.50). Tasty titbits will be washed down with a refreshing glass of house wine (£3.75) and if thirsts require further quenching, the remainder of the bottle will be available to purchase for an additional £5 fee.
