A renovated Victorian brewery houses The Maltings, which is a riverside venue in the heart of picturesque Ely with grand halls and an ever-changing list of local cultural events. A warmly open atmosphere greets guests to the centre, where a casual restaurant and bar invite quiet discussion and views of the gently undulating river Ouse alongside an aromatic list of classic British fare. Dramatically vaulted with wood-beams and exposed brickwork, the centre’s Elysian Hall hosts every occasion from grand to demur in style, while a private cinema offers guests and locals a tip-topping taste in local art and international blockbusters alike. 
Gathering guests on the waterfront lawn or inside The Malting’s bright interior, brides and grooms will be welcomed to their special day with a rousing private drinks reception complete with seasonal tipples. Coordinated white or ivory tables neatly decorated with organza sashes will hold three mouth-watering courses during the wedding breakfast, in which guests can perk spirits with wine, tea or coffee and a tempting selection of chocolates. As the sun heads to set over the charming city, guests will be rewarded with a selection of evening rolls from grilled mushroom with halloumi cheese or bacon in ciabatta, cleverly selected before the event by the wedding party in a complimentary tasting menu. Reflecting twinkling tea lights set on each table, glasses of sparkling wine or prosecco will toast the bride and groom as they take their first dance, led by The Maltings’ resident DJ who will blast old tunes throughout the evening. Guests can then watch the happy couple cut their cake before the festivities finish at midnight.
