Reeling in the fun at Juliots Well Holiday Park, Pilgrims lake is well-stocked with rainbow trout awaiting a nibble. Surrounded by green banks and the odd wooden platform, the spring-fed lake measures in at just under an acre, with some of its scale-sporting stock measuring up to 12lbs. Rod hire and bait are available on site, as well as full gutting facilities at the Fishing hut, with the Coach House Bar & Restaurant also dishing out hot meals.
Donning the wellies along with suitable eye protection and head gear, fishermen can pick up a four hour permit (£20) and head down to the banks to try their luck. Up to three catches can be taken home, with extra fish available at £5 each, and a hot meal (up to £6.95) can also cast a line for hungry tummies. A mug of tea or coffee will also keep fishermen fuelled, with a cream tea or bread and butter pudding (up to £4.95) sweetening the deal.
