First swinging into action over a decade ago, Plymouth Jive Club celebrates a fusion of jive and salsa which first became popular in the early 80's, and brings it back to life in a fun and sociable setting. Dancers of a range of abilities are welcome to come and kick up their heels and the independent dance club regularly steps up fun levels, putting on special evenings such as glitzing up the hall with ruby-hued decorations for Valentine's Day.

Singles or pairs can come along for ten sessions held at Devonport Guild Hall on Ker Street. Sessions are planned twice weekly, on both Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7.30pm-11pm. Tuesday evenings will feature structured classes where students can learn how to Jive in a light-hearted environment, while on Fridays, freestyle evenings are held in which people can go bananas on the dance floor for the whole session.
