A friendly sanctuary that provides a home for exotic animals in need of a place to stay, Porfell is inhabited by a lively jamboree of lemurs, meerkats, zebras, and other furry friends. The wildlife park has carefully crafted habitats according to animal needs, and caters to human requirements with a tea room and gift shop. The park also runs an animal adoption scheme to raise money for creature comforts, and exotic experiences such as lemur feeding sessions and owl flying opportunities.

Tickets for two, or for a family of four, provide all day entry to the park. Visitors can mosey by the meerkats and the macaque monkeys, and pop into the children’s farm to stroke the donkeys and feed the rabbits and guinea pigs. In the African enclosure guests can discover zebra, eland antelope, and ostrich as they wander amongst Maasai huts, built to traditional methods and filled with displays of East African craft and clothing. The park’s beautiful woodlands are filled with ancient tree species and provide the opportunity for leafy wanders. The sanctuary is open all week until 26 February and then only at weekends until the 1 April from which it will again be open 7 days a week.

Reviews
Porfell Wildlife Park is met with a 3/5 rating on TripAdvisor. Visitors to the sanctuary said it was family friendly and that the animals are well looked after.
This is a lovely animal sanctuary not over developed and run by people who clearly have a passion for the animals they care for.

This is not a wildlife Theme Park but a Sanctuary providing a safe haven for elderly and problem exotic animals for the rest of their lives, which includes unsuitable 'pets' and animals 'surplus to requirements' from Zoos etc. Porfell’s funding seems to come only from visitors & other charitable donations, and it is obvious that priority is given to the animals – which means that facilities for human visitors are less than glamorous, although efforts are being made to improve things year on year.
