Awarded Premier status by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, the Southdown Gun Club hosts regular registered competitions and fixtures at its sprawling Sussex hills base. This huge shooting club offers up a gaggle of ceramic prey for keen eyes to take aim at, with targets designed to mimic closely the flight of live quarry. The club also hits the adrenaline target by offering thrill seekers quad bike or mud buggy rides.
Following a safety and instruction briefing, eagle-eyed pairs will step up to the firing line to take aim at 100 clays. Under the wing of the instructor, visitors will be taught how to use a 12 or 20 bore shotgun. During the approximate 60-minute lesson they will be guided through the techniques required to hit the fast-paced wingless discs with 100 shots to refine abilities.
