Michelin star-winning cuisine is the hallmark of JSW, which uses Hampshire produce to create exceptional dishes, served in the rustic environs of a 17th century coaching inn. This seven-course tasting menu offers a tantalising selection of what the restaurant has to offer. Feasts begin with carrot soup and parmesan croutons, before moving on to scallops with cauliflower puree and truffle vinaigrette. Staying with seafood, a crab mayonnaise with asparagus and samphire is next, followed by textures of pork, balanced with earthy beetroot. Lamb cooked three ways brings the savoury side to a finish, and the meal rounds off with a peach and elderflower Bellini, and a rhubarb and custard cheesecake. Diners can have their meal matched by a hand-picked flight of wines, each carefully chosen to complement a corresponding dish. The flight itself is accompanied by a glass of Champagne.
