Synopsis
Bringing to life the classic children’s fairy tale of The Enormous Turnip, this production tells the story of proud vegetable growers Mr and Mrs Chickweed and their planted creations. As the story unfolds, planting their final seed before they retire turns into a bigger deal then they had ever imagined, and they need all the help they can muster to save their house from the seemingly unstoppable and seriously enormous turnip.

About The Event
Families of four including their mini seedlings aged two and upwards can enjoy the Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company’s production of the famously funny children’s tale. The stage will play host to bouts of eccentric puppetry, live music and bundles of energy as the vegetable-loving couple get to grips with the enormous turnip that threatens to take over their house. The show follows sell out performances of the company’s other productions of ‘The Little Red Hen’ and ‘3 Little Pigs’, ensuring audiences are in for a knock out treat.

The Venue
Recently renovated, the Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre is now home to new contemporary bar and stylish interior décor, coupled with a brand spanking new lighting and sound system. Over the years, legends such as Ken Dodd, Midge Ure and Freddie Starr have all taken to the stage which now hosts everything from children’s adaptations of Peter Pan and The Sound of Music to Madness, Elvis and Bee Gees tribute acts.
