For the past 21 years, the experienced band of merry men and women at Robin Hood Watersports have been bringing the exciting sport of scuba diving to the heart of West Yorkshire. Aquatic aspirations are attained with a full range of courses to cater for divers of all capabilities, from introductory lessons to speciality diving courses and PADI certified instructor qualifications. Along with an on-site diving store, which offers products from major manufacturers such as Scubapro and Aqualung, the school regularly organises group trips to exotic warm water destinations such as the Red Sea.
Experienced divers can take two guided trips around the renowned Capernwray dive site, which is home to a variety of fish and features numerous wrecks as well as huge plastic horses for picture perfect Poseidon impressions. Those yet to wet their head in the diving world can opt for a scuba diving referral course, the first step on the road to qualified diver status. The day course, which starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm, involves classroom tuition followed by practical instruction in a heated indoor pool. Newbies will be able to upgrade to a full open water course within 12 months and are welcome to join one of Robin Hood’s full courses later in the year.
