Busy people enjoy their food, as they always have enough on their plate. Swap a timetable for some table time with today’s Groupon: £15 for a three course Chinese meal for two at Mandarin Restaurant.

Toasting a 2011 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor and recommended by Taste Lancashire, the chain of Mandarin Restaurants leaves those who taste its traditional Chinese dishes bowled over. At the Lytham branch of the restaurant, diners feast their eyes on the decadent décor of 1930s Shanghai, with flocked wallpaper and red lanterns conjuring up antique glamour. The restaurant promises views of the main square and offers loyal customers discounts and gift vouchers.

Waiting staff will whip a meal for two diners onto the table cloth, laying out a starter, main course, and soup for each. Starters will include Mrs Wan’s pot stickers; a dumpling with minced pork, prawns, and Chinese vegetables (£5.50), and deep fried mini curry chicken parcels (£4.50). For their main course, diners might pick pork gu loh, with sweet and sour sauce and a line-up of 14 tasty ingredients (£8.50) or king prawn kung pao, with wok fried prawns, chilies, spring onions, cashew nuts, and bamboo shoots (£10.50). Soups include chicken sweet corn (£3.50) and hot and sour soup (£4.50).

Reviews
Mandarin has received a plentiful amount of positive reviews, and TripAdvisors rates the eatery a delicious 4.5/5 stars. While reviews celebrate the whole dining experience, particular praise is heaped upon the restaurant’s fresh take on Chinese cuisine, and the friendly and attentive staff.
Waitress was very friendly and the meal was wonderful. My husband had the Mini Fillet Sizzler in Pepper Sauce and he said it was the best steak he had had in ages (there were 4 pieces of it). I had the chicken in ginger and spring onion sauce which was delicious. The house red wine was of a good quality and the coffee was the best I have ever had in a restaurant. It was piping hot and not at all bitter like some. Prices were very reasonable and overall it was excellent and I would recommend it.

Visited this restaurant for my 55th birthday celebration. This place excelled the reviews. Most attentive service from the staff, so friendly and made our night. The food was special too. We chose a banquet and it was so good, could not fault a thing and when next in Blackpool will definitely be going back. If you love Chinese food then do not go anywhere else.
