With a proclivity for being stuck between a rock and a hard place, the gravity-defying instructors at Rock Over Climbing offer tuition on how to reach the top for beginners, juniors and experienced climbers. Boasting qualified staff, many of whom swell the ranks of the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority), the indoor climbing and bouldering centre is one of the largest in the UK, catering for all ages, abilities and scrambling wannabes. Located only a mini rock, skip and a jump away from Manchester Victoria rail station, climbers won’t have to travel too far before reaching their peak.
Beginners can get to grips with the basics of bouldering during a 60-minute induction with an experienced instructor. New climbers will be informed of how to use the wall safely and get the most out of their climbing sessions. After being taught about every hook and cranny, budding boulderers can stay behind and hit the walls in their own time. Two further climbs can be enjoyed with climbing shoes and chalk bag hire included. Climbers will also be treated to an annual membership which entitles them to discounted prices each time they climb and chalk up.
