Old MacDonald has extended his farm to include an animal rescue shelter that now houses three blind mice, an owl and a pussycat, and a popped weasel. Have a fun rhyme at the farm with today's Groupon: £25 for an annual pass for one to Wellybobs Farm Park

Darwin’s theory of entertainment centres on Wellybobs Farm Park, where “survival of the funnest” is in action as farmyard friends compete for attention with creepy crawlies and play zones. This Lancashire institution has been run by the Kershaw family for over 80 years and features birds of prey, mountain goats and alpacas, as well as the regular farmyard favourites. The sprawling site also features a 30m zip wire ride for anyone looking to indulge in a spot of “ee-i-ee-i-wooaaah”.

Packed full of cute creatures, farmyard friends, and games galore, visitors can learn more about the animals and find out about all the goings on of a working farm. Those who have an Annual Pass enjoy farm entry for themselves and half price entry for up to four guests throughout the year. They also are able to adopt one of the animals, chosen from a selected list, and receive letters and pictures from their chosen chum. On top of a regular newsletter, Annual Pass holders also get birthday and Christmas cards as well as discounted entry to some of the farm’s events.

The Groupon Guide to Egg Hunting
The Easter egg hunt is a fixture in family calendars nationwide – a time to remember the key values that keep us together in times of need: love, affection, and a willingness to exclude the little one if it means everyone else gets more chocolate. Here’s how to do it well:

Know your enemy
The Easter Bunny is a wily beast, and it takes a lot to outsmart her. Put yourself in her shoes and try really hard to imagine where you’d hide eggs if you were a rabbit. After that, head straight to a burrow.

Don’t be picky
Eggers can’t be choosers, so round up everything from Scotch eggs and eggnog, to the poor people whose parents thought Egbert was a good name.

Know where to look
Never mind scrabbling around under ornaments and plant pots at home: for a really successful hunt be a little more canny. Raid the nearest Easter arts and crafts fair, or check the faces of recently disgraced politicians.

Ask permission
before hunting on someone else’s land. Poaching an egg is an offence in some counties.

Trust no one
Especially children. If someone tells you they’ve already checked the bathroom and there’s nothing in there, it almost certainly means they’re guarding a secret hoard of eggs.
