One of the first horses was called a Hyracotherium It lived about 50 million years ago and was as tall as a fox. It had toes! This horse changed over millions of years to become a modern horse. Whilst Bearwood Riding Centre don't have any Hyracotherium's, it does have a range of horses and ponies to suit your needs, and now you can learn to ride them with today's gallopingly good £15 Groupon.

An hour and half of horseriding is all yours, which includes expert tuition. Bearwood are fortunate to have direct access to miles of off road tracks and have regular hacks throughout the week and weekend in the surrounding woodland. Bearwood are offering an optional hack as part of this package. What's that? You're not sure what a hack is? No it's not a rubbish journalist who works for a rag newspaper! Hacking generally refers to the casual riding of a horse at a normal pace (without cantering or galloping for example). This makes it ideally suited to group outings as even the less experienced riders can easily keep up with the rest of the group.

Bearwood have indoor and outdoor arenas, so they can cater for any level of experience in any weather. Bearwood Riding Centre is a BHS (British Horse Society - not the shop where you used to get school trousers from) approved Riding Centre, which has been established for many years, situated between Wokingham and Reading. One more sweet little fact to take away to your riding experience: Any marking on a horse's forehead is called a star, even if it is not shaped like a star! Bless.
