Caught red handed and covered in sticky pastry, many regret trying to hide their face in a baklava. Uncover Turkish secrets with today's Groupon: £24 for a three course Turkish meal for two at Mangal.
This haven of Turkish culture and cuisine offers a well-marinated menu of traditional classics, and is marinated in live entertainment from bands and belly dancers. The dishes are cooked using authentic methods, from barbecuing thick cut kebabs over grey-glowing coals to slow-roasting aubergines in softly bubbling sauces.
Diving straight in for a bit of pick-and-mix mezze, diners can select two dishes from a range that includes hot and cold options such grilled halloumi cheese (£5.95) and Imam Bayildi, aurbergine stuffed with vegetables (£4.50) . For the main course, teeth can tussle with the aromatic advances of smoky barbecued lamb and chicken (£13.95), or possibly a delectable vegetarian slow-baked musakka (£9.95). Rounding off the meal with a little sweet treat, diners can tuck into baklava and ice cream (£3.95) and embrace the just desserts of Turkish cuisine.
Reviews
Mangal was awarded a tasty 4/5 by Up My Street users and also received a positive write up from GetReading. While some diners found the restaurant could get a little quiet at times, others praised the lively atmosphere and entertainment, and several visitors complimented the quality of the food.
The restaurant has been doing a roaring trade, especially at weekends where you will often find a belly dancer entertaining diners on a Saturday night. The menu is just what you’d expect in the Med: meze platters, kebabs, fish and fresh breads. It’s also authentically fresh.

The food was excellent, the service attentive without being pushy, the staff knew what they were talking about and were very helpful. Definitely will go again.
