Live music is a huge improvement on canned music, which takes up valuable pantry space and often spoils into noxious free jazz. Keep it fresh with today's Groupon: £29 for a night of live music plus a two course meal and drinks for two at Hideaway.
Voted Venue of the Year in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2011, this live music club is a riot of soul, funk, R&B, Latin, and reggae. In a quiet mews behind the High Road in Streatham, its swinging line-up of performances are the heart and soul of the party, with new talent bebopping alongside jazz and blues legends. Monday nights are sweet and spicy with salsa classes and jam sessions, while Fridays are fuelled by giggles as young comedians swing by on the stand-up circuit. Thursdays are a musical haven while Sunday lunch and evening speakeasy allow guests to drift into next week on a sea of blues.
While enjoying all that jazz, duos can tuck into a two course meal from the a la carte menu, with a tasty main course accompanied by a starter or dessert. Appetising intros include deep fried filo prawns, and goat's cheese and walnut brûlée, while mains cover hearty favourites, like fish and chips or braised pork belly, and exotic flavours, such as the North African vegetable tagine. Lovers of sweet music and delicious dessert can string out a banoffee cheesecake or bread and butter pudding. Meals are accompanied by a choice of wine or beer.

Thanks to the varied entertainment and lively atmosphere, GoogleMappers awarded Hideaway 4/5 stars, while reviews on ViewLondon were also encouraging. While some thought the service could be improved, guests praised the well-prepared food.
…it was our first visit to this fabulous venue, and and we couldn't have possibly been more pleased. The food was beautiful, the service was immaculate from when we first of all went mistakenly into the cafe area until we left after the show, the music was inspirational and the atmosphere was relaxed and appreciative of the music.

The music was fantastic. The venue brilliant. I ordered the Steak [sic] which just melted in my mouth, and the wine was lovely and chilled. All the staff were very friendly and attentive even though it was a very busy night! The atmosphere was brilliant and I can't wait to visit again.
