While one could employ the use of a bell at home when in need of such vital services as drinks, snacks and cushion plumping, even bowtie-wearing pets have trouble with trays. Overlooking the spectacular Poole Bay, this three-star West Bournemouth hotel is both a provider of washing-up free existence and a base for many local attractions. Less than one minute's walk away is the river valley of the beautiful Alum Chine that leads onto its Blue Flag beach through a tropical garden variety of scenic strolls and energetic ambles. Replete with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and sauna, the Riviera Hotel offers leisurely activity within its walls as well as outside of them, with a games room and seafarer squirrel-spotting opportunities.

The Riviera Hotel’s 75 rooms all come complete with wide screen digital TVs, complimentary hot beverages and 24 hour room service for midnight feasts. Mini-breakers can take advantage of the hotel's fantastic setting with trips to Poole Harbour and the centre of Bournemouth, and push the boat out with upgrades to sea view rooms for £10 per night.

Hotel was clean, well managed and we had no complaints. Good choice at breakfast but we ate out every night. Indoor pool was lovely and warm and a good size. Hotel is very close to the New Forest, Beaulieu Museum and of course, Bournmouth [sic] beach and pier.

The hotel is in a great location as it is a short walk downhill to the beach, where there is a small train to take you along the front if you wish. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and I had a partial view of the sea. The breakfasts were plentiful and the customer service friendly and efficient.
