Known for its passion and energetic rhythm, salsa dancing was inspired by the uncontrollable moves people make when there are too many chillies in the picnic dip. Swap spicy dips for shaking hips with today’s Groupon: £12 for six Cuban style salsa lessons with nightclub entry at Cubaneando.
Experts in the arts of calculated hip wiggles and passionate castanet solos, Cubaneando’s team of expert salsa jivers share their saucy moves and worldly tunes every Friday night. The pro movers teach all rhythmically inclined toe-tappers, from beginners to expert perfectionists, and also serve up team building workshops, private parties, and one to one tuition, churning out confident dance floor connoisseurs. Hosting their limb swinging just a swift hot foot from London Bridge underground, the classroom perches atop Tito’s Latin Bar where weekend parties stay in full bounce until 3am.
With an aim to add a salsa string to their flamboyant bow, guests can bop along to six lessons of Cuban moves, choosing from two Friday night sessions, or tackling two in a row. The hour long beginners’ classes teach the difference between a guapea and a despelote and offer the opportunity to show off new found skills in the night club afterwards. As the instructors and extras strut their stuff accompanied by live musicians and clapping crowds, guests can rock up and get down with smooth tambourine moves.
