Dishing up authentic Persian grub slathered in eastern flavours, Esfahan Restaurant serves up heavily piled platters of colour, spices, and smells. The sensual boutique eatery boasts themed décor with murals, chandeliers, and floor rugs complementing the tiled floor and exposed brick walls. Sitting a little meander away from Putney rail station, the restaurant also serves traditional teas and buttermilk drinks, alongside tipples of wine, beer, and vodka-based Persian cocktails.

Teams of two or four cultural feasters can begin with a sharing platter (£15.95) featuring authentic Persian bread, maste moosir garlic yoghurt, hummus, smoked aubergine, and a salad of chicken with potatoes, peas, and pickled cucumbers. The main event is a mixed grill (£29.95) of koobideh minced lamb, marinated chicken fillet, and a spiced lamb fillet, or a sample of three stews (£26.95) like the Bamieh with okra, tomato, and beef, or a vegetable stew.
