Groupon Asks

Groupon asks Norman Lurens, owner of Dorset Advanced Motorcycle Training, what clients should expect from the day and what is the most rewarding thing about being an instructor.

G: What does taking your CBT involve?
"Four-hours off road training, completing all the modules then lunch, followed by a little bit of theory and road knowledge to help you complete the two-hour road ride."

G: Which skills do people find the most tricky to pick up?
"Probably slow riding, which is riding the bike slowly under control. It is needed to complete most of the modules. Although time is tight within the CBT day, we offer a pre-CBT lesson for non riders or do our best to help them get it on the day."

G: When on the road for the first time, do you have a method of communicating with the riders?
"Yes, the instructor is always in full radio contact with the student."

G: What do you enjoy most about your job?
"The satisfaction of getting a non rider riding on the road."
