With one of country's largest collection of birds spreading their wings over 30 acres of Staffordshire countryside, Blackbrook Zoological Park flies visitors away with a selection of spectacular animal attractions. A medley of worlds await, from the toasty tropical house with crashing waterfalls and a colourful array of feathered friends whizzing overhead, to a raised walkway and underwater viewing cave for visitors to catch sight of penguins from every angle. Blackbrook is also home to a selection of non-avian beasts, including meerkats, snakes and nimble lemurs.

The park opens at 10am where animal aficionados can enjoy a full day to spot over 300 species of birds and an array of mammals, reptiles, fish and amphibians. One or two adults, a child and adult, or a family of four are free to explore the grounds at leisure, and to make the acquaintance of these colourful characters, including Kentucky, the penguin who couldn't swim, and the cheeky warty pig, Diwata, who trots around examining guests with his inquisitive snout.

Reviews

TripAdvisors went wild for Blackbrook Zoological Park and awarded a score of 4/5. While signage and some of the facilities lead to mixed opinions, visitors enjoyed seeing the range of animals and exploring the park.

It was very nicely spaced out with seperate paths to each section with large ponds and grassy areas. There were lots of different species of bird, most of which we had never seen before and were very funny and unusual looking!

It is a BIG site - meerkats, lemurs, wallabies, penguins, monkeys & lots & lots of different birdlife in various habitats/enclosures. There are picnic areas, a playpark, good giftshop and an onsite cafe/tearoom. [sic]
