Mastery of the blades is no longer reserved solely for samurai warriors and beard shaving barbers, as Whizzard Helicopters offers the chance to chop through the clouds with a selection of pilot courses and pleasure flights. With approval from the CAA, these magicians of lift and thrust take students under their blades and show them the skills required to become qualified commercial pilots.
Entering the classroom where some complimentary refreshments and light snacks will be available, students will be given a full explanation of the helicopter’s controls, the cyclic, collective lever and pedals. With info firmly stored, it will be up, up, and away as air choppers take to the sky for a 20 minute hands-on flying lesson. Back on firm ground, budding pilots will be given a career path presentation on becoming a commercial helicopter pilot before taking a closer look at some more complex turbine engine helicopters. If available at the time, students will have the chance to have a peek around inside an air ambulance, and can also try charming lady luck to win a second 20 minute flight at the end of the day.
