Birds of prey often hold talon competitions, in which synchronised diving and beak dancing are met with raptor-ous applause. Flock together with today's Groupon: £4 for family entry to Falconry UK.

A world of effortless flight and daunting power, the centre showcases some of the finest specimens in the avian world. From Misty the great grey owl and Sassy the palm-nut vulture to Jerry the scops owl and Bill the kookaburra, the centre nurtures an inclusive environment when it comes to soft-feathered birds of prey. Alongside displays of hunting stoops and broad wingspans, the centre offers workshops and photo-ops for those wishing to get closer to the birds.

Two adults and two children or one adult and up to three children can enjoy a day at the centre, making their way to flight displays at 11.30am, 1.30pm, and 3.30pm. Parched throats can be refreshed at the snack bar, and restless children can do circuits at the kids' play area. Multiple re-entry is permitted on the day, so exploring types can head out in search of a country pub, a long walk, or some reassuringly boring pigeons.

Reviews

Though it has not yet received widespread feedback, Falconry UK has received a soaring 5/5 from initial TripAdvisor reviewers. Users enjoyed seeing the birds in action and gave high praise to the centre's enthusiastic staff.

Each demonstration has a knowledgeable, friendly and funny staff member, putting about four or five birds through their paces, and you really feel like you know a lot more about each bird afterwards.

Its [sic] a great opportunity to get close to the birds, take pictures and learn about them. All the staff were very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.
