Additional Information
The Hotel
An independent gastropub serving elegantly presented and seasonally sourced food, The Albany turns sated diners into sleepy guests with rooms dressed in modern style. The spring menu includes salt and pepper squid and teriyaki crispy beef, as well as thick 8oz local rump steaks and meze boards of baked camembert and hummus. There is a garden enclosed in a flint and stone wall, and the bar serves a sturdy collection of real ales.
Groupon Recommends
The Guildford House Gallery can be found on the High Street, occupying a restored 17th century building and exhibiting the Borough Art Collection. The medieval-minded can explore the castle, and its gardens, which dates back to the 13th century and commands excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Those in search of a little 18th century splendour should head three miles east to Clandon Park, a palladian mansion with a sunken Dutch garden, bulb field, and a resplendent collection of antique furniture. <br/
