Rather than being a treat for a special someone, wining and dining is actually just complaining really loudly while enjoying a nice meal. Avoid sour grapes with today’s Groupon: £12 for a wine and food tasting experience for two at Denbies Wine Estate.
Revelling in bacchanalian delight on 265 acres of land owned since the 18th century, this grape-crushing enterprise has been lapping up awards for its vino and victuals. Denbies Wine Estate is brimming with nature’s goodies and man-made attractions alike, hosting an extensive wine cellar to complement the largest vineyard in England, plus a charming auberge-style B&B, regular exhibitions and events for families, and facilities for business types.
Rolling down to the Dorking estate, duos with a penchant for the good life can get juices flowing with a wine and food tasting experience. The tour will kick off with a 360˚ virtual vineyard tour in the on-site cinema, a 20 minute visual extravaganza that will set the scene for the rest of the day and inform visitors of the extensive history of the estate. Next, patrons can clamber aboard for an indoor winery train tour, during which they can get to grips with the wine-making process. The heady experience will then reach a head, delving into the Denbies cellars for a sip of three specially selected wines carefully matched with complementary selections of locally produced foods.
