G: How can people turn a trip to the ice rink into a fun day out?
"A trip to Planet Ice is not just a trip to skate on the ice. We have various sessions such as parent and toddler skating, after school skating and junior discos, while you can always have a bite to eat if you become hungry."
G: What advice would you give to newcomers?
"You can ice skate, it's as simple as that. Everyone gets nervous about stepping onto the ice for the first time, and I'm sure even top professionals had that feeling to start with."
G: What skills does ice skating usually improve?
"Ice skating is an aerobic exercise like walking, running and swimming so it is great for your cardiovascular health. As a low-impact exercise it has little effect on your joints, and it can also help with weight management and muscle toning."
G: What one piece of kit should visitors bring with them?
"Gloves! Remember that it is cold in the ice rink, and I personally think there is nothing worse than having cold hands!"
