It’s all very well going out on a wing and a prayer, but if you’re an eagle, it’s best to have a sharp eye and a plan as well. Straighten up and fly right with today’s Groupon: £18 for a three hour ‘little and large’ birds of prey experience at Birds of Prey Centre.

With over 200 birds getting in a flap over it, this falconry centre swoops in with open days, experiences, and high altitude flying displays. Residents include fluffed up owls, iconic eagles, and even cheeky pelicans, as well as a brood of expertly trained hunting birds like hawks, falcons and kites. As visitors find themselves face to face and rubbing wings with the huntsmen of the skies, they can take on one of many educational voyages on feather-brained courses, and even take a peek at a bird adoption package.

A three hour claws-on ‘little and large’ experience allows guests to get better aquatinted with a handful of the centre’s tiniest residents, before moving on to the bigwigs of the Biggleswade barn. Rookies can learn to hold and handle the tiny raptors and 6oz scoop owls, before upgrading to a barn owl and kestrel. Moving on the biggest of the bunch, they’ll get the chance to fly an American bald eagle and meet a baby Andean condor, weighing in at a branch-bending 30lb, with a 15 foot wingspan. Awestruck customers can refuel by getting their claws into a Ploughman’s lunch.
