Despite popular opinion, you can have your cake and eat it; you just need to hide the evidence afterwards. The proof is in the pudding with today’s Groupon: £29 for a cake pops-making and decorating course at Stanley's Store.

Proving themselves masters of embellished edibles, Stanley's Store invites budding bakers into the kitchen and shows them how to turn delicious treats into mini works of art. The store, in the heart of rural Bovingdon, is an explosion of colour and creativity, filled with craftwork, handmade cards, fresh fruit and veg, and other homely delights. The Stanley’s team also sells its own cake creations, catering for birthdays, weddings, and indulgent tea times, and it shares its culinary knowledge during courses on how to decorate dainty delicacies.

Riding the cake-pop wave, tutees can learn to craft these cakey little balls of sugariness and pop them on a stick to delight friends and family. The lesson, lasting two and a half hours, will cover tricks of the trade including how to temper the chocolate, decorate the pops, and mould them into shapes. The lesson includes all ingredients and materials, such as sticks, ribbons, and fondant shape cutters. Teachers will supervise the creation of six little treats to take home, while refreshments will be available to toast sweet successes.
