About The Event
The Celtic Games combine rich tribal history with a summer of sporting endeavour, to evoke the spirit and tradition of ancient Britons. Forged in the leafy surrounds of Brickendon, the Iron Age settlement provides the ideal backdrop to a series of time-honoured tests of athletic and courageous prowess, as family clans get stuck into feather races and caber tossing. Events on offer range from archery and javelin throwing to relay racing and obstacle-clambering, while younger braves and the creatively-inclined can make authentic Celtic trinkets in the bushcraft camp and the roundhouses. When in need of a rest, Games-goers can watch in awe as shows including the warrior demonstration and owl display bring Ancient Britain to life.
