Chick pea is an ingredient of hummus, falafel, and accidents involving baby hens. Chick out today’s Groupon: £49 for a five-course Lebanese tasting menu for two with wine and cocktails plus choice of entertainment at Layalina.
The appealing aromas of Middle Eastern cuisine gather at Knightsbridge’s Layalina, where a contemporary take on Lebanese cuisine sits along with an extensive list of cocktails and wine. The kitchen is led by head chef Joseph Chahine, who uses his years of experience to formulate delectable hot and cold mezzes, marinated skewers, and tantalising desserts. Belly dancers, burlesque acts, and comedians provide the live entertainment, which continues into the night at Privée, Layalina's adjoining cocktail lounge, where whiz mixologists create an ever-changing menu of cocktails.
Combining food and entertainment into one neat, digestible package, Layalina will welcome epicurean duos on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday at 6pm. Diners can sip on a Champagne cocktail, before embarking on the five-course tasting journey. Taste buds will be tickled with two starter courses of cold, and then hot mezze dishes, featuring favourites such as vine leaves and calamari. After a fatoush salad, the mains will arrive, with guests able to choose from a meat, fish, or vegetarian dish. Having washed the meal down with a glass of house wine each, pairs can round the meal off with a dessert such as baklawas. Fun-loving patrons will be welcomed into Privée in time to catch some entertainment in the form of a burlesque show, belly dancing, or comedy.
Reviews
Layalina receives a decent 3.5/5 stars from TripAdvisors, and an appetising 4/5 from both ViewLondon editors and users. Although opinions regarding waiting times varied, reviewers celebrate the authentic and flavoursome cuisine, and personable customer service.
Tucked away down the stylishly salubrious Beauchamp Place, LayaLina brings excellent modern Lebanese cuisine to Knightsbridge, throwing in belly dancing, music and a nicely informal atmosphere just for good measure.

Excellent modern Lebanese food … It is well worth the price, and you will find yourself discovering whole new interpretations of classic Lebanese cuisine.
