A certain joie de vivre flows from the Institut Français,where for over a century the French government’s official language and culture centre has been showcasing the delights of the continent. More than 7000 students were greeted with a bonjour there last year, and with a range of courses available and an on-site cinema showing the latest French films in glorious Technicolor, many more are expected in 2012.
Arriving for the 9am Saturday morning start, students will get straight into the thick of the action as this nine hour course gets underway. With all textbooks and worksheets supplied, complete novices can master the basics of the language of love with a beginner’s course. Those with at least a basic knowledge and ideally GCSE level experience can dust the cobwebs off their lexical knowledge as they take the refresher course. The sessions will take place over three slots of three hours each, giving bookworms breaks in-between to refuel.
